it worked for me ... i have a 2 year old son from my 6th ivf cycle and first ever cycle doing acupuncture !!!!!!!! it really helped my lining get nice and thick and it relaxed me too !!! id say def give it a try. when i told my re that i was doing it he laughed at me .. well now he has an acupuncturist on his staff !!!!!!!

I truly beleave that acpuncture work and will help!!! It totally does not surprise me either about your doctor!! She would lose good money!!

Your Doctor's reaction doesn't surprise me. Think of all the money insurance companies could save if acupuncture was covered...but then someone else would lose money so it won't happen.

I've heard that acupuncture can help to lengthen a short luteal phase. Also there's some (meta-analysis) to suggest an increase in the success rates of IVF when done in conjunction with acupuncture.

Hey, here is some info on it:

Acupuncture works best when a functional problem is the cause of infertility, specifically when endometriosis, ovulatory problems or hormonal imbalances are the cause for not getting pregnant.

On the other hand, acupuncture has not been proven to be effective when structural problems, such as an improperly formed epididymis or a blocked fallopian tube, are the cause of infertility.

Many women chose acupuncture infertility treatment either on its own or in conjunction with assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures, such as IVF.

Studies have proved the effectiveness of acupuncture for infertility. A 2004 study conducted by the Reproductive Medicine and Fertility Center in Colorado found that 51% of women who underwent both IVF and acupuncture treatment at the same time became pregnant, while only 36% of those who only underwent IVF did. The latter group also had higher rates of miscarriage stillbirth (20%) compared to those women who had received acupuncture (8%).

Acupuncture for infertility?
My neighbor got pregnant (after she was told it was improbable) after having acupuncture treatments for 3 months.

Has anyone else heard of this or had experience with it? I asked my fertility specialist about it, but she was hesitant to encourage anything that wasn't medically related........

Congratulations! Did you have a boy, or a girl, and did you go on to have more children? How wonderful for you, and I'm so happy for you that you got pregnant naturally. So many doctors tell their patients, too early, that they'll never get pregnant, and I think that's so wrong. I know so many people who have been told this, and months, or perhaps a few years later, BOOM, they're preggers! Way to go ...
